Mahmutlar Dentist First Step for Implant Treatment
Implant treatment is artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone, providing a permanent solution to replace missing teeth. With this treatment, you get both a natural look and a functional tooth structure. Here is a brief information about the process:
- Purpose of Treatment:
- To eliminate chewing, speaking and aesthetic problems caused by missing teeth.
- To prevent the jawbone from resorbing and preserve the natural alignment of the teeth.
- How to Apply?
- Inspection and Planning: Your jawbone and mouth structure are examined in detail, and if necessary, an x-ray or tomography is taken.
- Surgical Procedure: The implant is placed in the jawbone in a sterile environment. This procedure is usually performed with local anesthesia.
- Osseointegration Process: It takes 2-4 months for the implant to fuse with the bone.
- Attachment of Superstructure (Prosthesis)After the fusion is completed, the dental prosthesis is fixed on it.
- Advantages:
- It has the look and feel of natural teeth.
- It does not harm neighboring teeth and offers an independent solution.
- It is a long-lasting and durable treatment method.
- Protects jaw bone health.
- Post-Treatment Care:
- Daily oral hygiene should be taken into consideration.
- Dental floss and special brushes should be used to clean the implant area.
- Regular dentist check-ups should not be neglected.

Three Step Process for Dental Implants:
1. Implant Placement:
The first step is to surgically place the implant into the jawbone:
The dentist makes a small incision in the gum to expose the jawbone.
A hole is carefully drilled into the bone.
The titanium implant is placed in the prepared area.
The gum is stitched closed again.
A 3-6 month healing period is required for osseointegration (fusion of the implant with the jaw bone).
2. Abutment (Connector Piece) Installation:
Once the implant has integrated with the jawbone, the abutment is placed:
The gum is opened again to expose the implant.
The abutment (connecting piece) is fixed onto the implant.
The gum heals around the abutment, forming a “collar.”
Recovery at this stage usually takes several weeks.
3. Crown Placement:
The final step is to fit the prosthetic tooth (crown):
A custom crown is designed to fit the surrounding teeth.
The crown is securely fixed onto the abutment.
The dentist checks the fit, color and bite pattern of the crown.
This process provides a strong, stable and natural-looking solution that replaces missing teeth.

No, since we apply anesthesia, you will not feel any pain during the operation. However, mild pain, slight swelling and bruising are normal for up to a week after the procedure.
Depending on the implant brand used and the condition of your bone, in some cases we will insert your temporary teeth on the day of implant surgery.
Generally, a 34-month period is required after implant surgery. This is the time required for your tooth implant to biologically fuse with the bone. After this period, your tooth measurements are taken and your crowns are made.
